Encouraging cycling throughout Auckland's Eastern Bays and beyond

Bike Eastern Suburbs was originally set up as a Facebook page in 2009 and now has over 700 followers.
However, with people's increasing disengagement from social media, we have set up this page as a noticeboard so those who don't follow Facebook can find out more about us and get involved.
We will still be running our Facebook page, this is just another means of engaging with our cycling community.
Bike Eastern Suburbs is volunteer run and operates as part of Bike Auckland's "Bike Burb" initiative that works with local bike groups throughout Auckland.

Events

ParkRide GI May, 30th, June 6th June 13th at 2.30pm - 4.30pm. A series of short rides for people of all ages and abilities along cycleways and shared paths. Free. Meet at the Glen Innes Bike Hub on Taniwha St.

Love Your Path 2nd Anniversary. Sunday 14th June 9.00-11.00. Calling all volunteers and people who have appreciated the work done on the St Johns to GI shared path. Meet on the path next to Sunhill Market. We'll have a bit of a tidy up before cutting the cake at around 10.00. We're inviting Orakei and Maungakeikei-Tamaki councillors, and local board members plus the candidates for the general election to turn up. Please turn up and show what a vibrant and enthusiastic cycling community we have!

Matariki Glow Ride. Saturday 18th July 7.00pm-8.30pm. Glow up your bike and dress up warm for a night ride along the waterfront. Meet at the Mission Bay clock tower.

TBA Picnic Ride. Let us know if you have an awesome route you'd like to ride in the company of others.
TBA 2026. Come celebrate the opening of the fourth stage of the Glen Innes to Tamaki Drive path.
